Educare Support aims to provide a secure, stable and caring environment in which each child or young person can realise their full educational potential and social capabilities in order to become better adjusted individuals, able to cope successfully with life's demands.
We have several key objectives which extend and unpick the key aims.
Personal Development
To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment, in which the day-to- day needs of each young person can be met; and their potential for personal development positively encouraged.
Problem Solvers
To help our young people address and resolve their behavioural and emotional difficulties.
Becoming active citizens
To enable our young people to understand their rights and link that with their responsibilities to society and other people.
Believe in themselves as learners
To ensure each young person attends an educational provision and achieves their holistic potential. Seeing skill acquisition as transformative.
Develop Self-awareness
To support our young people to better understand the issues that have resulted in their needing to be “looked after,” and how to use them positively.
Embed a ‘Growth Mindset’
To offer our young people individual time and support as they grow and develop, which will enable them to affect and sustain positive change in their lives. This may be to a foster carer, to independence or if deemed safe to do so, return to their own family or kinship networks.
Draw strength from Collaboration and Cooperation
To work in close co-operation with all other significant agencies and adults involved in our young people’s lives, to achieve the set aims and objectives as laid out in individual Care and Placement Plans or Pathway Plan.
A culture of respect, honesty and flexibility
For each setting to provide the best outcomes for our young people, the values and behaviours of the adults need to be aligned with those of the organisation. This involves creating a culture wherein staff feel valued, understood and respected, are treated well and know what is expected of them. This process begins from the recruitment phase and continues into induction and throughout the staff member’s time with us.
Equality in action
Staff at EduCare Support believe in equality of opportunity for all children and young people regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, sexuality, impairment or disability. The staff team are committed to ensuring all our young people have their rights upheld. Staff will consistently endeavour to be good role models for our young people by themselves behaving in a manner which is non-oppressive and by challenging any discriminatory attitudes or practices.
